Are Wii okay?

WiiWelcomeYouI got a Wii back in January. Some time after that I signed up for my free three issues of Nintendo Power (side note: I still have all of my old Nintendo Power issues from back in the day). For some reason I ended up getting four issues. With the fourth issue came this flyer thing that just talks about cool Wii stuff. The cover of the flyer is to the right. I assume this is for Nintendo Power subscribers that don’t already have a Wii. I read magazines in the bathroom so naturally this flyer ended up on on top of a stack of magazines on the back of the toilet. I’m also a guy, so I spend a fair amount of time standing facing the toilet re-looking at whatever is on the top of the stack on the back of the toilet. After a couple of weeks of looking at this flyer, I realized there’s something odd about it. If you’re interested, click on it to take a closer look before you continue.

Okay, maybe I’m just imagining this, but over half of the Miis on that cover are stoned. At least one of the other ones is hopped up on something else. Is Nintendo trying to tell us something? Or am I just wrong, and the Miis are just really tired?

Mash Up

spider doyle I’m getting married in ten days; am looking forward to both the wedding and the end of planning for the wedding. Kuma was fat at about 60 pounds; he looks much better now at 53; we just have to get him trained a bit better and we can show him. For some reason I’m interested in baseball at the moment; I hate baseball; games are so long. Pillage the Village is my game of the moment. Work is very busy right now; we’re all swamped and are in the process of hiring at least two new people in addition to the one we already hired (hi Jerm!). I’m still eating fairly well, but the days are so busy that it’s hard to keep up with all of the meals I’m supposed to eat; and forget about working out with any consistency for the next ten days. Okay, I’m tired; ‘night.

Most Underappreciated Windows Feature

Is this feature forgotten? Or did anyone ever know about it? I think many people have come across it and immediately dismissed it without a second thought. Hopefully you already know about it and use it if it fits your workflow or don’t if it doesn’t. Ready for it?

It’s the Shortcut Key on Windows Shortcuts.

I didn’t have a use for shortcuts for years. It was the annoying thing that I accidentally clicked in the New menu when I right-clicked in Windows Explorer. But now I use them just to attach a shortcut key to them.

Instead of using the Quick Launch toolbar (or a similar third party shortcut toolbar) or the Start menu or trying to move windows around to get to my desktop, I just create shortcuts for my most commonly accessed folders, applications, web pages and anything else. When I want to open a folder, I just hit CTRL-ALT-W (or whatever the shortcut is), and BOOM it pops up right in front of whatever windows I’m looking at. It is a tremendous time and annoyance saver for me. Give it a try!
